Upanayana is one of the standard saṃskāras (rites of passage) that marked the acceptance of a student by a guru (teacher) and an individual’s entrance to a school in Hinduism. The tradition is widely mentioned in ancient Sanskrit texts of India.The sacred thread (yajnopavita) is received by the boy during this ceremony, that he continues wearing across his chest thereafter.
उपनयन संस्कार एक प्रकार का मानक (पारित होने के संस्कार) है जो कि हिंदू धर्म में एक स्कूल के लिए एक गुरु (शिक्षक) द्वारा एक छात्र की स्वीकृति और एक व्यक्ति के प्रवेश द्वार के रूप में चिह्नित करता है। यह परंपरा व्यापक रूप से भारत के प्राचीन संस्कृत ग्रंथों में उल्लेख किया है। इस समारोह के दौरान पवित्र धागा (yajnopavita) लड़के द्वारा स्वीकार किया जाता है जो कि वह अपने सीने के पार उस धागे को हमेशा धारण करता है।
The Sacred Thread (पवित्र धागा)
The strands of the sacred thread has symbolic meanings. The scared thread has 3 strands. A bachelor is supposed to wear just one thread, a married man ought to wear 2 scared threads and if the married man has a kid then he wears 3 threads. The 3 strands of the thread symbolizes 3 debts of man that must never be forgotten.
पवित्र धागे के प्रतीकात्मक अर्थ है। उस धागे के ३ बातें है। एक कुंवारा सिर्फ एक धागा पहनने के लिए माना जाता है, एक शादीशुदा आदमी को दो धागे पहनने के लिए माना जाता है और अगर शादीशुदा आदमी के एक बच्चे है तो उसे तीन धागे पहनता चाहिए। धागे के तीन किस्में का अर्थ है मनुष्य के तीन ऋण से है जिसे कभी भी भुलाया नहीं जाना चाहिए।
They are (वे हैं):
The debt of one’s teacher. (एक शिक्षक का कर्ज।)
The debt of one’s parents and ancestors. (एक के माता-पिता और पूर्वजों के ऋण।)
The debt of the scholars. (विद्वानों का कर्ज।)
The 3 strands of the thread also symbolize the 3 Goddesses, Parvati, Lakshmi and Saraswati. This signifies that the person becomes complete only with the assistance of those 3 deities of strength, wealth and knowledge respectively.
धागे के 3 किस्में भी 3 देवी, पार्वती, लक्ष्मी और सरस्वती का प्रतीक है। यह दर्शाता है कि व्यक्ति केवल क्रमश: शक्ति, धन और ज्ञान के उन 3 देवी की सहायता से पूरा होता है।
Significance Of Upanayanam (उपनयनं का महत्व)
The strands of the thread also stand for purity of thoughts, words and deeds of the wearer. Through the ceremony of Upanayanam, the boy is introduced to the idea of Brahman and thus becomes qualified to lead the life of a Brahmachari consistent with the rules of the Manusmriti. Hence, wearing the sacred thread is very important in Hinduism as it marks the start of education for the child.
धागे की किस्में विचारों, शब्दों और पहनने के कामों की शुद्धता के को दर्शाता है।उपनयनं के समारोह के माध्यम से, लड़के ब्रह्म के विचार से अवगत होता है और इस तरह वो एक ब्रह्मचारी के जीवन के मनुस्मृति के नियमों के अनुरूप नेतृत्व करने के योग्य हो जाता है। इसलिए, जनेऊ पहनना हिंदू धर्म में बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि यह बच्चे के लिए शिक्षा की शुरुआत के निशान है।
